Basically, a Capricorn rising will depend on the placement of Saturn and its aspect. This will decide in what area of life the person will tend to find important by house placement of the chart ruler. Capricorn rising always makes the person serious, reserved, not easily open emotionally. It does bring about a restrictive influence but, if the person is more objective, he can use this wisely by giving him or her steadfastness that leads to great achievement. The goat always wants to climb the mountain and the person usually sees life from a lofty perspective. This will reflect in his or her relationships since Cancer will be in the 7th house. Solid relationships will b important and usually, the person seeks a firm foundation to build a family.
Correction. Thanks SAGGY. I’m getting old and I should be able to answer this since I have Capricorn in 7th house. With Cancer rising the person may go through many emotional ups and down, uncertainties and insecurities. Capricorn on the 7th cusp expresses the need to find firm ground – a stable contact with the earthy element. I seem to be attracted to earth signs LOL. This house/cusp points to cultivating partnerships that build on the foundations of the personality. Thus, one has the sense of being able to stand up in the world, for one has a steel frame and a strong defense. Such an orientation leads or may lead to relationships with older and/or established people in general. One has a liking for those who have achieved some standing in the world or who, by their own inner strength, help one toward the achievement of one’s goals. On the other hand, this same sign/cusp may attract into one’s life people who cannot be penetrated, who wear a shield, and who are not emotionally available.
edit… I misread the question the first time. Oops.
There is a chance that the native will project the Saturn-ruled Capricorn parent-figure onto the relationship. I would definitely take into consideration the aspects and the placement of Saturn.
