What makes it even harder is that the dispositor for both singletons is Mars. So look at Mars. Mars is in interpersonal house and personal sign, which is already good. It’s in earth sign, also good. It’s disposited by Mercury, which brings us to the the 3rd house and Neptune there. It’s not a strong aspect but with the Neptune Mars trine you can convey a more visual way of thinking and exchanging the messages. Also if you have any thoughts questioning your self-worth from the Saturn Mars square, clear it and work on it. That may be the major block for you and maybe the most sensitive point in your chart.
Let’s see what the wise men and women say about this aspect:
Mars square Saturn by Robert Pelletier:
With Mars square Saturn, you alternate between periods of aggression and periods of recession and apathy. You are constantly at war with yourself because you cannot resolve this problem, which is not an easy one, as your experience has shown. Even when you gather the will to assert yourself, you are apprehensive that your timing may be off. Likewise, when inertia prevails, you realize you should have taken advantage of an opportunity earlier. Only time will improve your capacity to correctly judge when you should take action. You will have to be very careful not to become embittered by your occasional setbacks. If you can learn from them, you are ahead because of the experience.Potentially you can accomplish much, once you know your limits. You can excel in occupations requiring endurance and follow-through, as in the fields of military service, land development, sports, and physical therapy.
In whatever profession you follow, you must be willing to start at the bottom and work your way to the top. There is no easy way to gain a position of authority – you must earn it. Any shortcuts to the top are at best hazardous, because your position will be insecure. Your greatest lessons in life will probably be learned through your relationships with others. You don’t always kow just how much you can assert yourself in your associations. You especially need to develop your opinion of yourself by learning to use your talents so skillfully that you never need to feel threatened by anyone else. You must develop self-confidence about meeting challenge and competitors. When you say ‘No!’ you must mean it, and when you say ‘Yes!’ it should be with firm conviction based on reason. You must especially avoid vacillation and indecision, because they raise doubts about your credibility. Your romantic relationships are ensnared with inconsistencies of temperament and emotional intent. You suffer deeply if your advances are rejected by someone. It is possible for you to become vindictive and even use physical violence against people you don’t really want to hurt. You tend to hurt the one you love without realizing it. Caution in all physical activities is advised, because this planetary combination inclines to accidents and broken bones. Be particularly careful around machinery, and when you are unsure whether you can do something that requires considerable physical strength, don’t.
Mars square or opposition Saturn by Karen Hamaker-Zondag:
In the hard aspects between Mars and Saturn, the incompatibility of the planets comes more to the fore. Usually, we are ill-at-ease as a result of inferiority feelings which, as in the conjunction, can make us very reserved and even passive on the one hand, and full of (overcompensating) ambition on the other; consequently, we strive hard to reach goals, and are not to be deterred by any obstacles in the path. These aspects are often associated with intermittent bursts of energy; either we are taking things easy or we are being intensely active – there is no thought in our minds of a happy medium. Because we feel so vulnerable, bearing is poised and stiff, and the impression we make on others is of someone hard and even forbidding. People can find us intimidating, and so a vicious spiral is set up. They in turn behave coolly toward us,or refrain from responding to us at all, and so our inward hurt increases and we become even more withdrawn. Although aloofness may look like egotism, it is really a form of shyness and sensitivity. Perseverance comes hard to us; aims (Saturn) and actions (Mars) are always in conflict. Sometimes we attract circumstances in which we are unable to get enough of our own work done; as if, here again, aim and action are out of balance. Generally, our own attitude is to blame, but we can correct this as we grow older. For, even with the active tense aspects, we can set our sights on responsible long-term goals.
Both Pluto and Jupiter are on your relationship axis, and you can’t really look at them separately. I would think that you put a strong focus on your partner (Pluto), to the point that your expectations are something not realistic or exaggerated (Jupiter). The give and take situatuion is heavy at times. Because both bodies are singleton, the issues around partnerships, adjusting your attitude, and searching for the right approach can actually dominate your life. However, the fact that Jupiter receives positive vibes from the airy Moon in Gemini and slightly also from the earthy Neptune, means that you make others work for you constructively. Pluto is more difficult to tame and is more… I’d call it acidy, and more difficult to control, because it receives these two semi-squares from Uranus and Sun. This makes it more difficult to feed your partners with clear messages suggesting what will work best for all involved. These semi-squares grind on your personal power and you need to doublecheck that your motivations are clear to all involved. (since Pluto is singleton and boils you more). Hope this made some sense.
jupiter is NOT a singleton
I would discount jupiter opp pluto at 10' as far too wide. I tend to reduce the orb ratio down to 85% on astro to bring in line with mainstream views. sun conj mars should be interpreted in 12th house as they are within the 5' orb rule
planets in 12th house
[I also have Jupiter in the 7th house as the only planet in the social houses] This does NOT make it a singleton. However, it could be handle of bucket chart
Jupiter is a handle of a bucket chart and I thought this makes it a singleton – standing alone on one side of the chart (the Social in my case), thus focusing the energy of the chart. It seems like it’s the same thing but I’m still learning so I might be wrong :)
What hieronimuss said is pretty much true to me. I really focus a lot on relationships but I have issues keeping my interest for a long time because I do have quite big expectation and after a while I see people fail to meet them.
But there are times when I decide that I should be a realist – no one is perfect and after all the person is worth staying with anyway. Then the Pluto energy comes in action and I just start wanting a change so badly. And it’s not because something would go wrong, but just because I have to change.
I don’t know how to do this transformation keeping what is a good relationship because I have control over myself, and not over the other person. It does sound like this is a challenge presented by the opposition between the two singletons, fighting over each other. What bugs me is that I want to find a resolution that would satisfy both the need of change and the need of keeping the relationship, but I can’t see it… Pluto is not very well aspected and doesn’t help me at all.
What other aspects in my chart could help me soften Pluto’s “acidity”?
for ME mars to does not rule pluto and just focusing on your question in hand.
“Jupiter opposition Pluto The opposition of Jupiter and Pluto shows questioning of social ideology. You challenge dogma by asserting your own views, which may often be out of step with those of society. Autocratic attitudes and a lack of humility can cause a loss of popularity. This is a powerful placement for Jupiter, the planet associated with religious and philosophic issues. You may have much to offer in correcting social injustices. ” http://www.skyscript.co.uk/jupiteraspects.html#juopl
“Jupiter in Square, Quincunx, Opposition to Pluto It may be difficult for you to find a life philosophy that offers you the answers that you seek. You have penetrating insight into such matters and if you came from a traditional orthodox religious background, you will almost certainly go through one or more major overhauls in your belief system.
You may be someone who feels compelled to take the all or nothing approach to life at times. All forms of extremism or fanaticism can wind up producing unwanted negative effects and you risk antagonizing those who would otherwise embrace your causes. You possess a high level of ambition and the probability for some kind of large scale success or wealth would not be at all surprising with this aspect in your chart. Seek the middle path and try to avoid overindulgent lifestyles. A little self-imposed discipline is much easier to deal with, compared to having it forced on you from outside circumstances.“ http://www.skyviewzone.com/astrology/aspectsjupiter.htm#najuasppl
I use Equal house system and your sun would be in 12th house and mars conjunct 12th being within gthe 5'orb rule. So this is massive changes and orientation
I’ve always interpreted my Sun in the 12th house. It just doesn’t really make sense when I read about it in the 11th. What bothers me is that it’s a part of this very complex t-square that indicates the state of emotional detachment and numbness I get into every time things get deeper (Moon in Gemini opposed by the conjunction of Saturn and Uranus) resulting in secret affairs (Venus in 12th and also the conjunction of Sun and Mars in the 12th) the wish to hide away and just be what no one knows I am(Sun in 12th with which Pluto in 1st completely agrees). So that definitely doesn’t help keeping the so needed relationships I focus my life around(singleton Jupiter in 7th).
Basically everything in my chart screams change, freedom, privacy except the singleton Jupiter in 7th. I guess the social ideology the the Jupiter Pluto opposition questions is that best relationships are emotionally based and monogamous (the T-square point of view) :) But how would I tell the world about this as it should remain secrete (the stellium in 12th).
It just seems like a big circle with no way out…
