I see why you are scared: Pluto is empowering the sign of Capricorn since 2008, this transit over your 8th House that rules the transformations, the assets and the sexual power can be very disturbing.
You must not read this as a birth chart characteristic, but as a transit. Here’s the following:
“Gemini will experience Pluto in Capricorn moving into your 8th house sector of other’s people power and influence over us. This cycle can bring power, money, or inheritances as you reclaim your power that you may have given away to others. The 8th is the house sector of death, loss and transformation and some of you may experience divorce or the death of others which would be difficult but the end result would be you becoming more empowered and self-reliant. Saturn, the great teacher, will be entering Virgo this September until 2010 bringing your attention to 4th house issues of home and family. You may be moving or buying real estate with your new financial power and some of you may be losing a parent or taking on the responsibility of parenting. This will be a cycle of maturity and personal growth (…)”

Also the invigorating power of Pluto may turn upside-down your personality and you’ll probably suffer of a strong outgoing ambition but yet inner regeneration. I must say this probably will start processes in your life of great goals but with baby steps, greater that you can imagine and a start-over attitude, nerves of steel and achievements of goals in really long term. Pluto can be very disturbing and you’ll find yourself having strange breakdowns full of tears and a feeling of “not knowing where you going”.
I add this as a personal experience since I am a first degrees Capricorn and Pluto has been on conjunction over my Sun, my Mercury and right know with my Neptune. This disturbing and tumultuous episodes can be very frighting but this purge of your subconscious mind is healthier than it looks. It’s a great time for psychoanalysis, recycling what’s broken, sexual liberation and a healthy reinvention of the personality and the body. Bad time for sure for anger, blind ambition and unscrupulous planing.
“The eighth house is Pluto’s natural and strongest position, denoting an intense and powerful agent of growth and personal evolution at work in your life. You periodically come face to face with limits in your personal power, and seek to transcend your limitations by merging with forces larger than yourself such as sex, death, meditation, magic, rituals, money, occult bodies of knowledge, worship of a positive or negative deity, status, or taboo subjects, all denizens of the eighth house. There may also be compulsiveness in your relation to the symbol you have chosen for transcendence. There is, however, an intense conflict between the personal boundaries your ego establishes for security after each such metamorphosis, and the force inexorably drawing you, through progressive metamorphoses, to greater and greater merging with the Ultimate source of power”

Mysterious legacies and the mysteries of birth, death, and the afterlife compel you to delve below the surface. You could become a researcher or a psychic investigator, or be drawn to esoteric studies which illuminate the hidden side of life, such as alchemy, depth psychology, metaphysics, or spiritualism. If your life does not offer much in the way of intrigue or drama, you may begin reading thrillers or material that explores the darker side of things. Money, power, and sexuality – and the dynamics between them in human relationships – are a focus during this cycle. Family skeletons, especially involving sexuality, lost or disowned family members, or undisclosed financial dealings, may come out of hiding. A death may reveal something previously unknown. In any case, powerful forces for change and psychological healing are at work as previously unacknowledged elements are brought to light.
