Transiting Pluto conjunct Moon brings major life changing experiences and these changes are deeply felt at the emotional level. Pluto conjunct the Moon will bring up intense psychological issues from deep in the soul, which will lead to a complete transformation of the emotional life. This transformation may start with a stripping away of the emotional security blanket, and you and other people have to adjust to this raw you.
The Moon also represent family and all other close emotional bonds, so these relationships can undergo changes. These relationships will become very important and this could range from greater emotional support and bonding, to separations. All things related to home and family are up for possible changes, including moving home, starting a family, becoming a grandparent, or children leaving home. The Moon can also represent the public, so this during this transformational journey over a couple of years, you may find that your most personal dramas are open to the world but this sharing can be a healing experience.
The ruthless nature of Pluto can have an effect whereby you experience others trying to over-power you or manipulate you. If this is the case you may learn to become ruthless yourself if that has not been in your nature. If you have been the dominate type, then you might find this transit mellows that out a bit. Going to extremes and finally finding a balance could be a theme over these couple of years.
In 1978, George W. Bush had Pluto conjunct his Moon This coincided with his first attempt at public office. It was the 19th Texas Congressional election which he lost by 6%. George ran a nice-guy campaign, his advisers wanted to him attack his opponent but he didn’t. George told his advisers that his opponent was also running the nice-guy campaign. 10 days before the election, George went head to head in a live radio debate with Hance and got totally hammered. For the following 10 days Hance kept up the attack. George learnt from this Pluto transit how to be ruthless.
In 2006, Charlie Sheen went though a bitter divorce during this transit. There was a very public and ruthless custody battle over the children, where his wife blamed Charlie’s addictions and threats of abuse for the marriage breakdown. In 2010, Michael Douglas experienced Pluto on his Moon by suffering life-threatening throat cancer, and by the power of Pluto he beat it. Arnold Schwarzenegger has also been going through this transit the last year, just recently finished his final term as governor of California and now reading movie scripts. A re-birthing, total transformation.

Thank you for all the responses! There’s a lot to think about. I feel something needs to change, just not sure what and how to make the changes.
Hi Alexis. Pluto will not form an aspect to your Mars and Moon until January 2014. So you have still plenty of time. Are you planning to move in about 2 years – since that could be one of the results of this transit (Mars rules your 4th house of home)?
Pluto will change you. I call Pluto the Big Eliminator. It clears the space for the New to take place. You come closer to your Soul. To be more specific, more info is needed.
This is how you look up the effect of a transit:
- First you look at the natal placement and aspects of the planets involved. It’s the focal point that the native will bring into the transit.
- Then I look at the house where the transit is occurring. This is where the inner change and the events will possibly take place.
- Finally for the outcome of the transit I look at what houses is ruled by either Sun, Moon, Mars and Pluto in this case.
A lot can depend on what house this is going to happen in. More potent if this stellium is angular of course 1/7 4/10th
“Pluto transits to the Sun challenge us to face up to unexpressed or poorly expressed traits of our Sun sign, house, and aspects. We discover our own power and strength, and we re-work our very sense of identity, which invariably affects our life path. How we have defined ourselves to date is now challenged. In some cases, women live this transit through key male figures in their lives. These transits force us to confront our will, power, assertion, and authority. Sometimes, the relationship with the father or other important male figures come into focus. We face the need to be more independent, assertive, and autonomous. Perhaps most importantly, Pluto transiting our Sun puts us face to face with exactly what it is that has been holding us back from living life more fully and meaningfully.
Look for Leo in your natal chart, as the Sun rules Leo, and this is an area of life that will be directly affected by the transit (in addition to the house where the transit actually takes place).
Pluto transits conjunct Sun
~During this time, you will have to face up to the real, inner you – the person you were meant to be and not the person you were taught to be. For years you may have avoided “gut” personal issues, ignored what you wanted and concentrated on what you thought others expected of you. But no more! Your strongest desire at this time might be to make a totally new start – change homes or even towns, divorce your marriage partner and in extreme cases refuse custody of your children. Conditions you have tolerated in the past, even though they may have caused you pain or unhappiness, are now swept aside. Realizing your potential will become your primary goal. Depending on how frustrating your life has been, the changes coming your way can undermine the very foundations of your security. Pluto brings about drastic, revolutionary changes, but ones which are necessary to halt the process of stagnation and instigate continued growth. These changes cannot be resisted entirely, although your tendency might be to desperately cling to the status quo. One of the lessons you will learn is that change is necessary – all things which have lapsed into a cult routine or become meaningless will be cleared away to make room for more progressive attitudes and creative activities.
This transit of the Sun brings about the need to understand yourself on a deep, inner level, much deeper than the image you normally show to the world. There is also a need to get to root causes. Exactly why do I act in this way? Why am I afraid ? Who am I really? These questions, and more, must now be answered. During this time, you can put together the pieces of the puzzle of your life. Psycho-analysis, consciousness-raising groups, meditation and introspection can help you to achieve deeper self-understanding, which will lead to greater self control and greater utilization of your potentials" http://www.cafeastrology.com/plutotransits.html

“Transiting Pluto conjunct your natal Sun. Your goals or life purpose are likely to change significantly now. You may have a renewed sense of identity, or you may have just finally figured out who you are. You will probably want to prove yourself and will work very hard to get ahead. You may find that you want more power or authority. Your ambition is increased.” http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/pluto-cj-sun.html
Transiting Pluto conjunct your natal Moon. This is a period during which profound changes affect your emotional well being. You may experience difficulties with the women in your life, or your mother, trying to control you and your relationships. Sometimes this transit indicates the death of female relatives, particularly the mother. Because there is often a lack of support, you must become very resourceful. The overall theme for your life at this time is learning to let go and becoming independent. Watch your health in general, particularly problems with your stomach or digestive tract" http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/pluto-cj-moon.html
“Transiting Pluto conjunct your natal Mars. This can be a time when you struggle to maintain your position. Someone may be playing power games or try to bully you into submission. You may suffer an erosion of your status or self respect. On the other hand, you may be gripped by a ruthless drive to dominate and intimidate others into submission. While you are capable of great accomplishments at this time, the risk of physical injury is increased. Avoid bad neighborhoods, high crime areas and involvement with shady individuals because this is a violent combination.” http://www.astrology-x-files.com/transits/pluto-cj-mars.html
So T Pluto conj Sun and moon can suggest problems with men/father/authority figures. then moon = mother, women, home/domestic circumstances. These transits will potentially last for years and will totally transform your Sun/ego pride character. Moon/emotions nurturing nature, mars/how you take actions and aggression
Your natal Pluto in the 11th house speaks of your uniquely focused involvement with groups and friends. Plutom is also square your Mars Moon conjunction, telling us that these area of your life was early on influenced by somewhat invisibly volatile influence by your mother and also by men in your life. One possible pattern that you adopted early on is that “all men can be very violent”, which you later also had to unfortunatly expereince, in one way or another. These aspects are however not very exact, so maybe we are not talking here about the dramatic level and a greater impediment on your psychology and how you function, especially since this conjunction receives a good energy from Saturn and shows ability to learn from your past bad experiences (Saturn’s dispositor is Mercury).
The keywords for Pluto are change and transformation. As it approaches your is your Sun, is it already did, you look at your both at your dependency patterns (1st house of independence) and at your material assets and what you value (2nd house). Both of these will start to slowly shift to make a new awareness possible.
Since Sun rules your 8th house, the result of the transit will mainly play out in what you share with your partners. Issues like “What belongs to whom?” can pop up. New arrangements will be sought. If you’re in a relationship that is not benefiting you, you may decide to split. If you have a company you may decide to restructure and change pretty much everything. Some financial loss is possible as part of letting a new structure in your life emerge. There is also a lot of subconscious issues emerging that you feel like understanding and overcoming at this time, such as possible volatile relationships with those close to you in the past. There is however a lot of time for all of this to shift and leave you feeling closer to your soul. Let me know what you think. (I’ll continue at a later point with Pluto transiting your Mars and Moon.)

I notice this pluto is also a singleton ie: only planet in air element, which tends (on occasions) to be exaggerations and sweeping statements.
I use Equal house sytem and your Sun would be 2nd and jupiter 9th and saturn 10th, Uranus 12th.
Same time transiting Uranus is conjunct IC/home roots, shaking things up there with disruptions “Uranus Transits the Fourth House Your home life may be in a state of flux during this cycle. It’s possible that you move house, but even if you don’t, there could be some disruptions to your domestic routine or erratic elements on the home front that you need to deal with now. Your life speeds up, and decision-making can be very hasty now. You definitely feel the need for action, but if you don’t know where you’re headed, you might take the wrong turn. Unexpected changes in plans or events can test your patience, and you could feel a bit out of control at times, particularly if Uranus is also transiting square to your Ascendant. However, events could stimulate you to try new approaches and they certainly act to cut boredom. Letting go of old family conditioning is a theme.” http://www.cafeastrology.com/uranustransitshouses.html
