Also, it’s in Scorpio. How does that flavor its influence?

Saturn on ascendant gives you many positive traits like being reliable, responsible, and very much controlling of the circumstances and changes in your life. What this aspect doesn’t do, and I hope I am wrong, it does not radiate attraction and charisma in the usual ways. People probably see you as skilled mathematician, but as you grow older you will capture more and more attention through your condensed but practical wisdom.

Saturn Aspecting the Ascendant: The Ascendant shows how you start things. Saturn will tend to make you cautious and careful here. Even an “charge-right-in” sign like Aries on the Ascendant will be slowed by this one. The stressful aspects also incline to extra delays in the marriage and partnership area. If you have a stressful aspect of Saturn to the Ascendant, don’t get married before your first “Saturn return”. This is the time when Saturn returns to the place it occupied when you were born, and it occurs between the ages of 28 and 30. This aspect is similar to the effect of having Saturn in the 7th House. A marriage before age 28 has an increased chance of failure. The affection slowly decays until there is nothing left. Tell your fiance they will have to wait.

Bob Dylan’s verse, “I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.” is really true of your life. You were born old, and had many responsibilities while still a child, as well as a feeling of not having been loved at an early age. There’s often a feeling of lost childhood with this placement of Saturn. As you mature into an adult you will have the desire and the opportunity to regain and relive some of your lost youth.

You need to overcome your fear and develop self-confidence and a sense of your own self-worth. You’re shy, conservative, very reserved and possibly self-effacing; but are extremely responsible, patient, self-disciplined and persevering, capable of working long and hard to achieve your goals. Discipline and responsibility in your self-expression is your hallmark; freedom in your self-expression is your challenge.

I’m reading Howard Sasportas book on houses and I came across this (very true for me) The planet close to ascendant can tell us something about the early infancy. It’s possible that with Saturn on Ascendant, the native was born into a sense of hardship and restrictions.
