What planets or planetary action would you ascribe to the movie Requiem for a Dream

Aries One’s explanation about the movie: That movie came out in 2000 and it had Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, Ellen Burstyn, Marlon Wayans. It was a little bit dark, all of them were kinda living out lives that were an alternative substance/substitute to their happiness. It involved hopes and addictions, unfulfilled and lonely things or separation so I was thinking “Moon Pluto.”

I frequently have some fun conversations with two people close to me who are also well-versed in both astrology and movies, so I want to interject some things that I think are relevant to this question: The discussions we have are often related to Leonardo DiCaprio flicks, and there is a distinct focus—to me—on Neptune transits. One might be related to hard aspects of (either way, transiting Neptune and natal Saturn or the reverse) Neptune and Saturn, implying the potential for separation anxiety in contrast to fearing the future from Pluto conjunct Neptune, a transit that takes years to bring one through the evolution of the transit itself, right at the time a series of other transits come into play.

There a distinct theme of Neptune showing here. Neptune will be relevant to addictions. Maybe hope too, although that’s going to be related to the 11th house as well. Unfulfillment could be Saturn, Neptune, Pluto…that might be the hardest to call. Lonely things and separation, I’d call that Neptune and Saturn. Moon Pluto aspects tend to be more related to intensity, even manipulation, but I wouldn’t be quite as likely to call this combination lonely or separation.

Now of course I haven’t seen the movie which is why I asked you to describe it. With the way you did, I’m surprised DiCaprio wasn’t in it! :)

Hope that helps.

I see two planetary actions: Saturn square Lilith and Pluto opposing Chiron from Aronofsky’s chart. The first aspect carries a heavy sense of anxiety and creates out lack of emotional clarity the central and main motive of the movie. Aries Saturn doesn’t really know how to deal with the ultra-femininity of Lilith Cancer.

The second aspect in my view has this fragile sensitivity of Chiron conjunct Ascendant which is trying to motivate the opposing Pluto towards a sense of resolution. It’s not really happening, so the falling back into woundedness keeps repeating itself, always little bit different. Fascinating layering in a fascinating movie.

The movies feels dry I believe because of D.A.’s natal Mars Neptune conjunction. Black Swan had a much better flow, since he had less control over it (in spite of Mars in Scorpio lol)

Let me know what you think. :)
